Troubleshooting Steps
- Ensure the unified RingCentral.app is up-to-date — and only one copy exists. (The latest version as of this writing is v20.2.2.)
- Manually install from https://www.ringcentral.com/apps/rc-app, or...
- Push via Addigy MDM: Our deployment script erases the RingCentral.app from the /Applications folder if detected, populates in ~/Applications and drops in 20.2.2.
- Clear the RingCentral Cache Files (see details below).
- Test over Ethernet (vs wireless).
- Run macOS 10.15 Catalina upgrade from the App Store or Software Update in System Preferences
- Consider the outdated RingCentral Meetings app only if all else fails.
How to Clear the RingCentral Cache Files
If the app will open try this:
- From the RingCentral menubar go to View > Developer Tools. This will open a side window.
- From the side window, open up the Application menu (you may need to first click the >> icon).
- Click Clear storage from the sidebar of this window
- Then click the Clear site data button.
- Return to the menubar and click View > Reload.
- You will then be required to login to the app.
If the app will not open, or the above steps do not fix the issue, then try the following:
- Make sure the only installed app is the unified RingCentral.app, remove all other copies and variations.
- Uninstall Ring Central Meetings via the uninstall option from the RC meetings dropdown when the app is open.
- Repair disk permissions via disk utility
- Manually delete the following files and folders. Open Finder > Go > (hold Option) > Library
- ~/Library/Application Support >
- Glip
- Cache
- Code Cache
- GPUCache
- RingCentral
- Glip
- ~/Library/Caches >
- com.Glip.Glip
- com.Glip.Glip.ShipIt
- us.zoom.ringcentral
- And ... Anything else with RingCentral, Glip or Zoom
- ~/Library/Preferences >
- com.Glip.Glip.helper.plist
- com.Glip.Glip.plist
- us.zoom.ringcentral.plist
- us.zoom.xos.plist
- ZoomChat.plist
- ZoomSDKChat.plist
- ~/Library/Saved Application State > com.Glip.Glip.savedState
- ~/Library/Application Support >
